Now I'm sure most of you know that I have been using the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence (FTE) for many years now. It's been a staple in my daily morning and nightly skincare routine, alongside my Hera products.

Featured! Cleo Magazine Singapore May 2014

Hey musers!

Just thought I'd update you guys on my feature in the most recent Cleo Magazine Singapore May 2014 issue! Thanks to my sweet Twitter follower @bunnq who notified me of it ^_^

For those who may be new to my blog or channel, I was also featured in a few issues of Cleo Magazine Australia last year as one of three Australian Cleo Beauty Ambassadors, alongside Chloe Morello and Lauren Curtis [see In The Media to the right]. It was really exciting and I was honoured to be part of such a fun project, working with an amazing magazine company that I was an avid reader of back in my teen years too.

Looking forward to more cool stuff here in South Korea too! Will keep you guys posted. Shoutout to all my Singaporean readers/viewers too - you guys are awesome. I love Singapore and wish to visit again someday. [Can you believe I actually enjoy the humidity? ;) hehe]

Thanks always for your love, support and friendship,

Jen xo

Korean Sewol Ferry Disaster - 세월호 여객선 침몰

Hey musers..

It's been a crazy week. So much has happened in Korea since the last time I blogged, which was Tuesday last week. Little did I know that the very next day, something would happen that'd drastically change the whole scene of this country... My TV, which I rarely watch, has now been on for the 5th day straight with constant coverage news on the situation of the Korean Sewol Ferry Disaster.

I was so sad about this entire situation that I honestly couldn't smile properly for days. Oppa and I constantly talked about it, I was always looking for news updates - even the 24 hours AfreecaTV livestream of the actual place where families are staying to get updates about their missing family members. It's a true tragedy.. and every few hours the death toll continues to rise. Not a single person has been rescued yet, as of right now (Mon 21 April 2014).

Seoul has been buzzing ever since last Wednesday. My K-Style TV segments have been cancelled for two weeks. News and weather anchors are wearing dark colours in their broadcasting features. A Kpop concert oppa and I were supposed to attend on Saturday night was called off. National entertainment and recreational events everywhere have all either been postponed or cancelled. Everywhere I go in Seoul, people share their own grief with me about the situation and the mishandled management - from the initial emergency call to the rescue missions - whether they are family members, taxi drivers, shop assistants or even total strangers.

A crying mother of a missing child. T_T
Text messages sent from students on board just before the ferry capsized.

There were controversies everywhere (and there still are). I had to research far and wide on my own to figure out which news stations were ones I felt were trustworthy, and those that were clearly just trying to get the more entertaining (shocking word to use here, but yes), action-packed footage and constructed imagery of constant happenings that were most likely not true or fabricated.

Plastic Surgery, Appearance & Expectations: The True Beauty of Women

"My blood boils because of a message that is being heard by the daughters of the earth.
I speak out because there's a voice that has been silenced for too long."

Yesterday, in the subway on my way back home from church, I saw a girl.

She was a normal South Korean girl, boarding the subway carriage on the same platform with another girlfriend. She wore a white t-shirt that flowed down to the hips, navy blue skinny jeans and a gray sweat jacket in casual attire. Her hair was straight, black and tied back loosely, with a few waves decorating her face around the temples and the nape of her neck. She smiled as she listened enthusiastically to her friend, whose back was towards us.

As I said, she was a normal girl - perhaps in her early twenties - a simple girl, just like the rest of us. Her face was bright and animated as she chatted, lighting up every now and then as she responded with surprise to her friend's comments. She had the aura of a carefree young woman who had the whole world at her fingertips.

Yet... there was something very different about her. An undeniable truth to the onlooker.

There was a history on her features... A statement of a painful past.

The mark of a cold, sharp knife that had once touched and pierced the skin on her face.

Her eyes. They were pretty. But there was something else about them.

March Beauty Faves 2014 ♥

Hey musers!

So since I haven't had the time to film a March Beauty Faves video, I thought I'd post about the products I've been absolutely loving the past month since moving to Korea.

These are those makeup items I've used during almost every makeup routine - you know, those products you just know you will buy a new one of when you run out. The funny thing is that not all the items are Korean, as opposed to what I thought my faves would consist of! Curious?

Here they are:

I'M A LIVE TV REPORTER! + Update

Hi musers!

It's been a looong time. Sorry - I have been majorly busy.
As many of you know, I've recently started working.... FOR LIVE TV! Yes.. TV!

I never imagined that one day I would be a reporter for TV but I have to say I'm absolutely enjoying the experience! As I don't get to cut and edit, leaving that up to the 'live' condition (with a camera crew, PD and many others watching behind-the-scene of course), it's a just a little different from my normal Youtube filming environment, but I am really enjoying it! hehe :)
